ROSS TARR
Founder / Artistic Director

As Founder and Artistic Director, I can be heard saying: ” Every story teaches a lesson,” And, “It’s storytelling, not story reading!” My role is to train and encourage tellers, search for venues, create events, and enhance interest in the ancient art of spoken storytelling. Of course, after a decade of effort to grow the Suncoast Storytellers from a group gathered monthly in my living room to swap stories, I can also be heard to say, “I remember when . . . “

Have stories. Will travel. After years of writing for newspapers, I love to create stories to be told. Fables, tall tales, personal stories, and stories about interesting people are among the ones I like best. I am a listener, too. I hope to encourage others to tell their stories. I am ready and willing to support all those who want to discover the art of storytelling.
